The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) is pleased to announce the release of Version 1.3 of its Heat Stress App for Outdoor Workers. Farm Employers Labor Service presented AIHA CEO Larry Sloan in a FELS webinar, “New Heat Stress Smartphone App from AIHA” on September 27.

This updated version of the app includes the following enhancements:

  • Ability to select different/customized configurations by location (i.e., workloads, clothing & cloud coverage)
  • A new article “Precautionary Measures” has been added to the resources.
  • The Clothing Options names are now the same app-wide and examples have been added under each option.
  • The health recommendations under the location details have been reworked to match each situation better — the more practical tips now appear on the location screen, and do not require click-throughs.
  • You can save the same location more than once but will be reminded to use the “rename location” feature when you do so.
  • The “search location” placeholder now allow you to search for more specific locations / addresses, not only cities.
  • A “New version available” screen will appear when an update is required.
