New Guide Offers Helpful Compliance and Safety Information

Cal/OSHA has published “Workplace Safety & Health Guide: Safety and Health in Agricultural Field Operations,” a 56-page manual on various Cal/OSHA regulations and best practices applicable in agricultural employment. Topics covered include:

  • Development and use of an Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP);
  • Heat Illness safety;
  • Tractor safety:
  • Hand tool safety;
  • Lock-Out/Tag-Out;
  • and many other safety and health issues found in agricultural workplaces.

While reliance on Cal/OSHA’s new guide doesn’t guarantee compliance with safety and health regulations, the new guide can be a useful reference and resource for California agricultural employers.
