Post Cal/OSHA Injury & Illness Summary in February
Employers required to maintain logs of workplace injuries and illnesses (i.e., employers of more than 10 employees at any time during the prior calendar year) are required to post their 2024 annual summary by Feb. 1. Even if your company had no recordable injury or illness in 2024, you must still complete your Form 300 log and post the Form 300A summary, available from Cal/OSHA.
The posting period is Feb. 1 to April 30. The 300A summary must be conspicuously posted at the location(s) where notices to employees are normally provided.
The summary includes the total number of job-related injuries and illnesses that occurred in 2024 and were logged on OSHA Form 300, Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses. To assist in calculating incidence rates, information about the annual average number of employees and total hours worked during the calendar year is also required.
If a company recorded no injuries or illnesses in 2024, the employer must enter “zero” on the total line. The form must be signed and certified by a company executive.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics may still select employers of 10 or fewer employees to participate in its annual statistical survey.
The deadline for submitting forms to the ITA is March 2. You can learn more from OSHA’s Injury Tracking Application page.
